ALERT BAY ARTLOFT ART EXHIBITIONS

ALERT BAY ARTISTS SOCIETY (www.alertbayartartists.org) has posted a call for art submissions on May 1 at ARTLOFT GALLERY for the 2011 May group exhibit TEXTILE ART that will encompass all fibre arts with a textile design theme. All submitting artists must be existing members of the Alert Bay Artists Society or join for an annual $10 membership fee.

RECIPROCAL NEAREST NEIGHBOURS

Kari Glass's paper mosaic piece titled RECIPROCAL NEAREST NEIGHBOURS received an award for WORKS OF ART ON PAPER in the March 2011 Member's Juried Exhibition at the Comox Valley Art Gallery in Courtenay British Columbia. The panel of judges David McLean, Meagon Wilson and Robert Moon, said: "Reciprocal Nearest Neighbour by Kari Glass is "idiosyncratic and quirky with a sense of humour . . . reference to science and specimens is interesting . . . "

ALERT BAY COLOUR WORKSHOP: 6 March 2011

Collages were produced during a 3 hour fundraiser Colour Design Workshop facilitated by Kari Glass with generous assistance from artists Danny Coon and Pat Anderson at the Alert Bay ARTLOFT STUDIO on 6 March 2011. COLOUR COLLAGES: 6 March 2011 Alert Bay BC Colour Design Workshop

The following collages were produced on 6 March 2011 at the ALERT BAY ARTLOFT during Kari Glass's COLOUR DESIGN WORKSHOP with all proceeds going for the benefit of the ALERT BAY ARTISTS SOCIETY. During the short 3 hour period twelve collages in a variety of sizes were created by the following artists: Eugene Isaac, Sonja Huddleston, Doris Dalton, Nina Rasmussen, Pat Davis, Sara Burr, Wendy Peterson, Danny Coon and Pat Anderson.
