BIO: Kari Glass

KARI GLASS: SJSU—BA Studio Art / CWU—MA Theatre

I am a fulltime, all-the-time visual artist; overtime theatre designer, and sometime stagehand. I work throughout British Columbia and Alaska but return home to Alert Bay on Cormorant Island off the NE edge of Vancouver Island. The origin of my art is trash—an upcycled visual improv reclaimed from discarded, forgotten, and found objects. Routinely I comb the seashore and my own backyard for jetsam and flotsam—the raw matter for both concept and construction.
